PEORIA, AZ - A 15-year-old boy, accused of shooting thee people at a Peoria smoke shop, pleaded not guilty Thursday morning.
Police say Langley killed two people during an armed robbery about two weeks ago. It happened at the Euphorium Emporium near Lake Pleasant Parkway and Deer Valley Road.
Two customers were shot in the head and died. Police identified the victims as 38-year-old Melinda Bowen and 60-year-old Kenneth Matlock. A third victim was shot but survived.
The owner of the store got away. Police say Langley stole a car from one of the victims, cash, and the store owner's gun. Langley was later caught in Los Angeles.
The teen faces two counts of first degree murder, one count of attempted first degree murder, two counts of armed robbery, burglary, theft of means, and two counts of kidnapping.
Vladimir Gagic, a criminal defense attorney who is not involved in the case, says Langley will face charges as an adult but not the death penalty because he is underage.
Langley is held on $2 million bond. Gagic said he wouldn't be surprised if Langley spent life in prison.
