PHOENIX - Throughout the month of February, ABC 15 and Fry’s Food Stores partnered for the Alphabet Soup Food Drive to help those in need in the community.
The drive helped stock the shelves of St. Mary’s Food Bank and St. Mary’s Mobile Food Pantry.
One woman who received help from the St. Mary’s Mobile Food Pantry told ABC 15, “I’m so thankful for these places because they are truly a blessing.”
One of the locations the Mobile Food Pantry comes to each week is to the Church on Fillmore in Phoenix.
St. Mary’s estimates that about 300 to 500 families come to the church to get help each week, and more come to other locations.
The food bank gives out about 100,000 pounds of food each month at the two dozen locations.
St. Mary’s told ABC 15 that many of the people they help have full time jobs and are trying to make ends meet, but can’t on their own.
Learn how you can help keep the St. Mary’s Food Bank and United Food Bank shelves full.
