PHOENIX - Police were able to arrest shoplifting suspects from The Home Depot after being led on a chase just after noon Friday.
Phoenix Police officers were called to The Home Depot at 2650 W. Thunderbird Road after an aggravated assault report.
According to a news release, a male suspect had shoplifted from the store, threatened an employee with an ax and then fled the scene with another male driving a white, stolen 1990 Honda.
Officers tried to stop the vehicle near North 19th Avenue and Thunderbird Road, but the driver refused to stop and fled yet again.
A police aircraft followed the vehicle northbound on Interstate 17 and alerted ground patrol as to where the suspects were located.
The suspects approached a swimming pool supply business on North 25th Avenue and entered the supply warehouse.
Employees in the warehouse detained the suspects and officers then took them into custody.
The suspects were later identified as Kyle Gustav Book, 27, and Michael Powers, 23.
