PHOENIX, AZ - Green Bay fans living in the Valley say they're outraged over a call by the replacement referees Monday night that allowed the Seattle Seahawks to defeat the Packers , 14-12.
At Casey Jones Grill, near 28th Street and Bell Road in Phoenix, employees say they've never seen fans so upset following a Packers game.
"It's a huge debacle," said football fan Andrew Grub. "It's a joke."
With no time remaining on the clock, Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson lofted a pass into the end zone.
MD Jennings from the Packers appeared to intercept the ball, but the referees awarded a touchdown to the Seahawks wide receiver Golden Tate.
"It wasn't a fair call," said Casey Jones employee Chris Matigian. "I think it was an interception. It was a bad call."
"I still feel pretty angry about it," added Casey Jones bartender Liz Joseph. "It was pretty obvious."
Fans at Casey Jones Grill say they hope the NFL comes to an agreement with its officials so situations like the one Monday night in Seattle can be avoided in the future.
"If the NFL isn't intelligent enough to know people are up in arms, freaking out about last night's debacle then there's a major league problem with the system," added Grub.
