PHOENIX - Phoenix police are investigating after officers found a body in an alley Sunday morning.
According to police spokesman Tommy Thompson, around 9:30 a.m., police were called to the alley near 38th Lane and Monte Vista to check on the welfare of a woman found in the alley.
When police arrived, they found the woman dead. Thompson said the woman had obvious signs of trauma to her body and appeared to be a victim of homicide.
Police said they do not know who the woman is, or who may have killed her. She is described as a white or Hispanic female, possibly in her early 20's. She was wearing a black tube top and jean shorts.
