PHOENIX - Two people were rushed to the hospital after a shooting Monday night in Phoenix.

Police said the incident happened around 7:30 p.m. on W. Ocotillo Road, near Interstate 17 and Glendale Avenue.

Authorities said a 34-year-old woman was shot near the elbow or stomach, and a 25-year-old man was shot in the head.

Both victims were transported to John C. Lincoln Hospital. The man is said to be in extremely critical condition. The woman suffered non-life threatening injuries.

Phoenix police said the suspect is known to both victims.
