PHOENIX - A carjacking suspect is in the hospital after leading police on a high speed chase Wednesday night.
Glendale police spokesman Brent Coombs said the incident started when officers responded to a carjacking call near 60th Avenue and Maryland around 9:45 p.m
When officers tried to pull the carjacking suspect over, the man took off. Coombs said the suspect led police on a high speed chase that ended near 31st Avenue and Clarendon in Phoenix.
Coombs said the suspect crashed his car into the Club Encounters building and fled on foot.
The man was found a short time later during a search by police K-9s. He was taken to a local hospital with minor injuries.
Police say no one inside the club was injured.
