PHOENIX - Dozens of protesters walked the streets of central Phoenix Monday fighting for immigration reform.
The protest centered around illegal workers charged for having fake forms of identification. The protesters claim illegal workers face stiffer penalties than college students with fake IDs.
"They are charging them with class 4 felonies when all they have is fake ID's. All they want to do is work," said protester Cesar Valdez.
Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio said all 71 work raids he conducted were launched after a victim, whose identity was stolen, came forward.
County Attorney Bill Montgomery said he supports immigration reform, but he will continue to enforce the laws he swore to uphold.
