PHOENIX - Former Arizona state Sen. Russell Pearce is now at his new job as president of Ban Amnesty Now .

Pearce was previously honorary chairman of the Tempe-based organization.

Pearce said one of his first orders of business is to defend SB1070 in the U.S. Supreme Court. He co-authored the bill during his tenure in the state.

"I look forward to working with state legislators, governors, members of congress and the hundreds of thousands of Americans already on board supporting B.A.N. and our mission to make America safer, stronger and more secure,” Pearce said on the website.

His other duties include heading up Ban Amnesty Now’s various educational, informational, legal, advocacy, and fundraising efforts, according to Ban Amnesty Now.

Pearce will now also host a weekly radio show sponsored by Ban Amnesty Now and the Conservative Leadership Coalition on KFNX News Talk Radio each Tuesday evening.

According to their website , Ban Amnesty Now is a national, conservative research and educational organization.

Pearce was Senate leader when he was ousted after a recall election in November 2011. State Senator Jerry Lewis replaced him.
