PHOENIX - A 2-year-old girl is lucky to be alive after falling from a second story apartment building Wednesday afternoon.

Phoenix Fire Department spokesman Scott McDonald said the toddler fell from the window of the home near 40th Street and McDowell.

McDonald said the child was transported to a local hospital in serious condition.
