It's the six-year anniversary of a deadly crash above the downtown Phoenix skyline.
On July 27, 2007, the helicopters from ABC15 and 3TV collided while covering breaking news in central Phoenix.
At 12:46 p.m. that day, both helicopters went down in Steele Indian School Park, killing ABC15's Craig Smith and Rick Krolak along with 3TV's Scott Bowerbank and Jim Cox.
Since that day, a memorial has been built at the park near 3rd Street and Indian School Road to honor the four journalists.
To celebrate their lives, the Cox family has also created The James Alan Cox Foundation for Student Photographers.
The foundation provides financial support to expand opportunities for young photographers.

On this anniversary, we remember each of the victims – and their families and friends.
