PHOENIX - Authorities say two injured hikers have been rescued in separate incidents on Phoenix's Camelback Mountain.

Phoenix Fire Department officials say a helicopter crew rescued a 53-year-old man late with a fractured ankle late Thursday morning near the top of Cholla Trail.

While paramedics were treating him, they say a 75-year-old man walked up to the crew with "substantial abrasions to his head and arms" from a fall.

Both victims were airlifted off the mountain one at a time and transported to Phoenix hospitals.

Phoenix Fire Capt. Scott McDonald says the department also rescued two people off Phoenix's Squaw Peak on Thursday. Details of those rescues aren't immediately available.

Authorities say many people are taking advantage of the Thanksgiving holiday and mild winter weather to go on mountain hikes.
