AWHATUKEE, AZ - Authorities say a young man ran into a burning home to save his elderly mother on Friday.
A Phoenix Fire Department official said the man in his 20s found his home on fire and his father in the backyard trying to put it out with a garden hose.
He stopped his dad and ran into the house to get his mother out of the home near 44th Street and Elliot Road.
Officials told ABC15 the home is a total loss.
There was no immediate word on the cause of the fire.
