AHWATUKEE, AZ - A large home in Awhatukee is a complete loss after it went up in flames overnight.
Fire investigators are on the scene near 1st Street and Chandler Boulevard where the fire started just before midnight.
It took about 90 minutes for over 60 firefighters to bring the massive blaze under control.
Neighbors say the residents had just left on vacation.
Video showed flames shooting 50 feet into the air.
According to the Associated Press, Deputy Chief Chris Ketterer said witnesses reported seeing a bright flash and hearing a loud bang in the garage area just before midnight. Then the witnesses saw flames.
There was no immediate word on the cause of the fire at the home estimated between 5,000 and 6,000 square feet.
