PHOENIX - Phoenix police believe jaywalking and drinking may be to blame for a man being hit by a car Monday night.
Police spokesman Trent Crump said the accident happened around 8 p.m. near 48th Street and Warner Road.
Crump said it appears the man was crossing midblock when he was hit by a vehicle driving westbound on Warner Road.
The driver left to get help, but returned to the scene to talk to police.
Crump said the man's injuries are reported to be serious, but non-life-threatening at this time.
Police said they believe the man may have been impaired when he was hit.
