PRESCOTT, AZ - Authorities say they have conducted an extensive search for a northern Arizona man who disappeared last week .

Yavapai County sheriff's deputies used search dogs and helicopters last Friday, searching for 66-year-old James Schwartz.

Sheriff's officials say the teams checked areas around his home, including trails which were commonly used by Schwartz in the past. No additional clues were found.

Over the weekend deputies contacted businesses in the Village of Oak Creek to alert employees and review surveillance tapes if available.

Authorities say deputies received calls claiming Schwartz was seen in the Prescott area, but none of the leads led to the missing man.

Family members are reportedly monitoring his financial accounts and say he did have access to cash which could provide a means of travel from the area.

Schwartz was last seen at home by his wife around 6:30 a.m. last Wednesday and was reported missing around 10 p.m.

He is a diabetic and does not have his insulin with him, authorities say. He also left behind his wallet, cell phone and car keys.

Family members said Schwartz was likely despondent over an argument he had with his wife the night before, but is not believed to be suicidal.

Anyone with information is encouraged to call the Yavapai County Sheriff's Office at 928-771-3260.
