SEDONA, AZ - A body found last month near Sedona has been identified as that of a former church official missing since last October.

The Yavapai County Sheriff's Office said Monday that dental records were used to identify 66-year-old James Schwartz.

The Village of Oak Creek resident had been retired for two months from his position as the pastor for Christ Lutheran Church in Sedona.

The body was found in the Woods Canyon area southeast of Sedona on April 7. The cause of the death hasn't been determined.

Schwartz was last seen at his home by his wife when she left for work on Oct. 19.

Authorities say Schwartz left a note suggesting he was despondent over an argument with his wife and left behind his wallet, cell phone and car keys.
