PRESCOTT VALLEY, AZ - A Prescott Valley man is behind bars after pulling a gun and demanding drugs from a CVS pharmacist Friday morning.
Police spokesman Brandon Bonney said Prescott Valley police responded to a robbery call at the CVS store at Windsong and State Route 69 shortly after 8 a.m.
When officers arrived, they learned a suspect entered the store, pulled a gun, and demanded drugs from the pharmacist on duty.
Police were able to identify the suspect as Preston A. Tisthammer, 23, of Prescott Valley.
Authorities said Tisthammer tried to flee the store when he was refused the drugs.
The pharmacist, a 51-year-old Chandler man, wrestled with Tisthammer as he attempted run away. Tisthammer lost control of the gun and ran away before being caught by officers.
Bonney said Tisthammer admitted to police he was involved in the crime. According to police, Tisthammer used a handgun he stole from a car on Thursday.
Tisthammer was booked into the Yavapai County Jail for armed robbery, burglary, and possession of stolen property.
