PRESCOTT VALLEY, AZ - A Prescott Valley man has been arrested after his 9 month old child suffered serious head and neck injuries.
According to Prescott Valley police, officers responded to the 4200 block of Saratoga for a report of a child having difficulty breathing.
The child was taken to a local hospital where it was determined the child had a skull fracture.
The child was flown to Phoenix Children's Hospital where doctors found additional head injuries and strained neck ligaments.
Police say 39-year-old Ryan Johnson was caring for his child when officers were originally called to the residence.
Johnson said he was not involved in the child's injuries and could not explain them with any certainty, according to police.
Johnson was booked into the Yavapai County Jail on one count of child abuse and two counts of aggravated assault.
Johnson has a $500,000 bond and the investigation is still ongoing.
