PRESCOTT, AZ - A 20 year old man is facing hit and run and DUI charges after destroying a fence in Prescott Valley.
20 year old Matthew Allen Ellson allegedly destroyed a homeowner’s fence, and two trees around 3:00a.m. on January 1st and drove away.
There was evidence at the scene that the vehicle struck a rock, and partially rolled over on its side causing significant damage.
With that information, police were able to locate Ellson’s 1994 Buick.
When police showed up to Ellson’s residence he had injuries to his arms and face.
Police say Ellson denied any involvement with the accident, but later made statements about his possible involvement. Ellson also admitted to drinking alcohol the night before.
According to police, Ellson had a suspended driver’s license and is on probation for a prior DUI related charge.
Ellson is now facing charges of DUI, reckless driving, leaving the scene of an accident, fictitious plate, criminal damage, and operating a motor vehicle with alcohol in system.
