PRESCOTT, AZ - A missing Chino Valley woman was found Monday after she called police and told them she had gone on a last-minute camping trip with friends despite leaving behind her purse and medications.
Chino Valley resident Emily Moon, 38, was reported missing Saturday after she left a friend’s house around 1 p.m. to purchase cigarettes and never returned. She left behind personal items that lead her friends to believe she would be returning.
Moon called police and verified her whereabouts after friends told her she had been reported missing. She told police she had ran into some friends at a gas station and decided to go camping with them without telling anyone of her decision.
Investigators traveled to her campsite and ensured Moon was safe. Prescott police thanked media and the public for their help in finding Moon and allowing police resources to be allocated elsewhere.
