PRESCOTT, AZ - A rollover crash Thursday afternoon near Prescott has shut down a part of Highway 89.

The collision caused a dump truck to spill asphalt across the roadway around noon near mile post 317.5, according to Prescott police Lt. Ken Morley.

Both lanes will remain closed from Highway 89A (north) to Willow Lake Road (south) until around 5:30 p.m. Thursday, said Morley.

He said 38-year-old Joshua Hale of Chino Valley was driving a specialty paving truck on southbound Highway 89 at mile post 317.8 when a left tire fell off.

The truck then hit a small passenger car driven by 45-year-old Dennis Jackson of Chino Valley, Morley said.

The paving truck then reportedly flipped onto its side and dumped the asphalt.

There were no passengers in the vehicles.

Morley said it took about an hour to get Jackson out of the small passenger car.

He had serious injuries to his legs and was flown to Flagstaff Medical Center in stable condition, Morley said.

Hale was flown to John C. Lincoln Medical Center North with multiple injuries and is in stable condition.
