PRESCOTT, AZ -
Prescott National Forest Supervisor Alan Quan says the Forest Service and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency are investigating potential hazardous materials at a mine southwest of Prescott after forest officials received an anonymous tip about leaking hazardous materials at the site in the Copper Basin area.
Quan estimates the mine site contains about 100 barrels of chemicals and some dynamite.
Forest spokeswoman Debbie Maneely says some of the barrels aren't labeled.
Quan says the EPA is testing the chemicals to find out what they are.
He says the Forest Service isn't aware of any active mining at the site since 1995.
