PRESCOTT, AZ - One Arizona city is getting national attention for what it's doing "right" when it comes to jobs and business.

"I like it. It's really quaint," said one resident of the small town situated about 100 miles north of Phoenix.

"Prescott is a great town," another resident said.

Prescott, Arizona has a population of just 216,000.

"It's a great place to live and to work and to play. Prescott just offers everything to everyone," said David Maurer with the Prescott Chamber of Commerce.

Forbes ranked prescott 64th in the country as the best small town for business and careers.

It's the only city in Arizona to break the top 100.

"It's always flattering to be mentioned in these national polls," Maurer said.

A big reason for the ranking? According to Forbes, the potential for growth.

"Prescott in general has got all the things you really need when you're looking to open a business," said Barry Barbe, owner of Monk's restaurant.

A business like Monk's, which opened just 8 months ago.

"We have the benefit of having a strong retirement community, we have a nice affluent community, we also have a young and up coming people as far as career people," Barbe said.

This new recognition just reaffirms what residents and business owners in Prescott have known for years. It's a great town.

"It just tells us that people really like Prescott, they like the quality of life here," Maurer said.

Three other Arizona cities made the list outside the top 100, Lake Havasu City, Flagstaff, and Yuma.
