PRESCOTT VALLEY, AZ - Police say an arrest has been made after a taxi driver was robbed in Prescott Valley earlier this week.
According to Prescott Valley police, investigators had been following up on leads after the driver was robbed at Ackland and Hoffman around 8:30 p.m. Wednesday and identified 30-year-old Douglas Aybal as a possible suspect.
Detectives conducted surveillance in an area where they believed Aybal was staying with his girlfriend, 30-year-old Tara Pearson, and took the pair into custody Friday morning as they left the Prescott Valley Post Office.
Police say Aybal made incriminating statements when he was interviewed by detectives and Pearson, who was identified as the second occupant of the taxi also made statements about her involvement.
Aybal was arrested and booked into the Yavapai County Jail for one count of robbery. Pearson was cited and released for theft of services.
