PRESCOTT, AZ - Constituents in Prescott expressed more skepticism over U.S. military involvement in Syria.
Senator John McCain held a third town hall meeting Friday at Prescott City Hall.
McCain is in favor of military strikes in Syria and says if the U.S. does not intervene then “our national security is at risk.”
Domenick Negri is an Air Force Veteran. He says going to Syria is a lost cause.
“These people are fanatics in their beliefs,” said Negri. “They're going to want to kill each other. You know it, and I know it."
Others worried any U.S. involvement could turn into a full-fledged war like Afghanistan.
McCain assured constituents there “will be no American boots on the ground.”
McCain says the town hall meetings this week reinforced the skepticism the public has of an air strike on Syria.
He says he will share that with Congress next week.
