HOLBROOK, AZ - State Route 264 near Tuba City has reopened.

A severe thunderstorm near Tuba City Tuesday evening washed out part of the roadway, causing a forced closure of the road.

The portion of road that was affected is east of Tuba City near milepost 324, according to the Arizona Department of Transportation.

ADOT reports water ran over a bluff above the road and washed out the highway below.

The road reopened Wednesday night, according to ADOT.

Crews will return in the near future to make permanent repairs.
