RED LAKE, AZ - Authorities say a northern Arizona couple has been arrested for allegedly stealing jewelry from friends' homes and selling them.
Coconino County Sheriff's officials said Monday that 58-year-old Steven Melvin and his 50-year-old wife Kathryn were taken into custody after deputies served a search warrant at their home in Red Lake.
They say the couple allegedly stole items while house-sitting for other residents of the Red Lake area.
According to the victims, Steven Melvin later returned fives watches that belonged to them but didn't say how he got them items.
Authorities say Steven Melvin allegedly pawned two stolen items at an area pawn shop.
They say he's being held on felony trafficking in stolen property and misdemeanor theft while Kathryn Melvin is being held on felony theft and felony drug possession.
