The Mistake Fire in Tonto National Forest began Aug. 8 and is 10 percent contained after burning about 3,400 acres.

Forest officials say its cause is under investigation.

The blaze is burning about 11 miles east of Punkin Center and is in rough, inaccessible terrain.

Officials say the fire originally was fueled by grass and brush and has transitioned to ponderosa pine timber.
