TUSAYAN, AZ - Crews are making progress on a wildfire near the Grand Canyon.

The Grand Fire has scorched 480 acres and was 90 percent contained Thursday.

The fire is burning in one of the main corridors of the Kaibab National Forest's Tusayan Ranger District near a lookout tower. No structures are threatened, and no injuries have been reported.

But hikers and campers are being advised to stay off a six-mile section of the Arizona Trail because of hazards created by the wildfire.

Meanwhile, the 257 Fire near Superior is now 75 percent contained at 2,860 acres while the Comet Fire is 50 percent contained at 200 acres.

The Sunflower Fire south of Payson is 80 percent contained at more than 17,600 acres.
