CORDES JUNCTION, Ariz. - A Chicago man has been arrested in Arizona after authorities say they found 50 pounds of marijuana in his rental car.
A Yavapai County Sheriff's deputy stopped a vehicle for speeding Monday in Interstate 17 in Cordes Junction.
Authorities say a subsequent search of the rental vehicle's trunk turned up 50 one-pound bricks of packaged marijuana.
Sheriff's officials say the car's driver was 32-year-old Christopher Fleming. He was arrested and booked at the Camp Verde Detention Center for suspicion of transportation for sales of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Authorities say bond hadn't been set for Fleming by Tuesday afternoon and it was unclear whether he had a lawyer yet for his case.
