PARKS, AZ - Coconino County Sheriff's deputies and detectives are investigating an act of domestic violence between a 73-year-old man and his 29-year-old wife.
According to CCSO spokesman Gerry Blair, the Parks man was allegedly shot in the chest by his wife on Sunday.
He is currently listed in critical condition and is unable to be interviewed by detectives, according to the report.
Despite this, the wife reported that she and her husband had both consumed a significant amount of alcohol on the day of the incident.
After returning home, they began to argue, and her husband decided to spend the night in his Jeep outside.
However, at some point in the evening, he reentered the residence and continued the argument. According to the female, he began to choke her.
During the altercation, the male was shot once in the chest with a small caliber handgun.
Their names are being withheld pending further investigation. No arrests have been made.
