BULLHEAD CITY, AZ - Authorities say a northwestern Arizona man accused of stabbing his sleeping mother earlier this week has been arrested in Nevada.
Bullhead City police say 21-year-old Zachary Ryan McGuire was spotted Thursday morning by security officials at a Laughlin casino. He's being held by Las Vegas police pending extradition.
Police were called to a Bullhead City apartment about 3:30 a.m. Wednesday after McGuire's 52-year-old mother says she woke up to her son attacking her with a knife.
Authorities say she suffered a cut on her neck area and defensive wounds on her arms but survived the attack and was taken to a hospital for treatment.
Police searched the Bullhead City area for McGuire, who they say is facing charges of aggravated assault and disorderly conduct involving a weapon per domestic violence.
