Deputies: Arizona man flew to FL to engage in sex acts with girl confined to wheelchair

BULLHEAD CITY, AZ - A 33-year-old Bullhead City man was arrested Monday morning after allegedly traveling to Florida to engage in sexual activity with a 14-year-old girl confined to a wheelchair.

Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office reports that Jonathan David Lane was in contact with the juvenile victim since approximately June 2011 to July 2012.

The victim reportedly received numerous photos and messages containing lewd and lascivious language from Lane on her computer and cell phone.

On July 15, Lane traveled from Arizona to Tampa, Florida to meet with the victim. He communicated his plans of travel and sexual activity with the victim via Yahoo Messenger on his laptop, according to HCSO.

The plane tickets were reportedly purchased by the victim using her grandmother’s credit card.

HCSO said the victim’s father intercepted the email messages from Lane and contacted police.

Police detained Lane and contacted HCSO detectives.

Police said that Lane was fully aware of the girl’s age and physical condition.

Lane is being charged with Traveling to Meet a Minor, Use of a Computer to Solicit Certain Illegal Acts, Transmission of Harmful Material to a Minor and Lewd or Lascivious Battery.
