DPS officials confirm that the stepmother of the St. Johns boy accused of killing two men, including his father, was seriously hurt in a rollover accident from Friday night.

Authorities said Tiffany Devall-Romero's green Jeep Wrangler rolled over shortly before 10:30 p.m. on northbound US 91 at Milepost 341.8, near Safford.

According to dispatch operators, Devall-Romero was the only person in the Jeep and it was a single vehicle accident.

She was airlifted to Flagstaff Medical Center where she's being treated for severe head and neck injuries, according to DPS.

The cause of the accident has not been announced and investigators are trying to determine whether or not driver impairment was a factor in the crash.

No other details have been released about the crash or Devall-Romero's condition.

On November 5, 2008, when the Devall-Romero's stepson was 8-years-old, St. Johns Police said he shot and killed his father, Vincent Romero, and roommate, Tim Romans.

On February 19, 2009, the boy, who is now 9-years-old, pleaded guilty to a single count of negligent homicide for the death of Romans.

That same day, two premeditated murder charges were dropped as part of a plea deal.
