LAS VEGAS - A National Park Service official says five people were rescued, including three who were flown by medical helicopter to University Medical Center in Las Vegas after a boating accident on Lake Mohave.
Park Service spokesman Andrew Munoz said Friday that a 65-year-old man, a 39-year-old man and a 34-year-old woman received injuries including broken bones and head injuries when their boat ran aground about 10:30 p.m. Thursday not far from the Willow Beach marina.
The five people spent the night on the shore and were found Friday morning when they hailed a passing boat to contact park rangers in the Lake Mead National Recreation Area.
Lake Mohave is the Colorado River reservoir south of Hoover Dam and north of Davis Dam near Laughlin.
