BLACK CANYON CITY, AZ - Department of Public Safety officials say 20 people, including children, have been injured after a multi-car collision on the 1-17 Sunday morning.

Authorities say the four-vehicle crash accident north of Black Canyon City  happened around 10:53 a.m.

DPS said there were no injuries reported in two of the vehicles. The children who were hurt were all in one vehicle. They all were wearing seat belts and received non-life threatening injuries. One person was briefly trapped in one of the vehicles involved.

The accident blocked the northbound lanes of the interstate for nearly two hours but lanes have since re-opened.
