PAGE, AZ - One person has died and two others are missing after two boats collided at Lake Powell Thursday afternoon.
Denise Shulz, spokeswoman for the National Park Service, said a woman has died, and two others remain missing, after a motor boat collided with a house boat in the Dangling Rope Marina area of Lake Powell Thursday afternoon in northern Arizona.
Kane County Emergency Services officials say a National Park Service dive team plans to continue searching for the missing women Friday.
Officials say the driver of a motorboat with 13 people aboard may have been distracted by some of children on the watercraft and wasn't able to avoid the houseboat.
Authorities say most of the people on the motorboat were family members from northern Utah. The male driver and an 11-year-old girl were airlifted to a hospital, while a third person was taken to the hospital by ambulance.
