KINGMAN, AZ - A Kingman school will remain closed at least until Wednesday because somebody stole part of its water system.
A backflow prevention valve was discovered missing Monday morning after students and staff arrived at Kingman Learning Center and found there was no water.
The Kingman Daily Miner reports that the source of the problem was discovered when a student reported seeing broken pipes and water spewing from the side of the building.
Academic Administrator Heather Appleby says she's hoping the school can re-open Wednesday but that depends on repairs being made in time.
Appelby says the school lost thousands of gallons of water.
A Kingman restaurant also had its backflow prevention valve stolen Sunday night or early Monday morning.
