Mohave County jail inmate captured after escape

KINGMAN, AZ - A Mohave County jail inmate who escaped last week from a transport van outside a court building has been captured in Kingman.
County sheriff's deputies say 26-year-old Darren Eugene Morrison was taken into custody about 5 p.m. Monday in a wash area south of Interstate 40. He's been booked back into the county jail.
Morrison was being transported from the county jail in Kingman for a court appearance on a failure to appear and aggravated assault charge Wednesday morning. The Bullhead City man escaped from the transport van near the courthouse's rear entrance.
His 24-year-old wife Ashley Morrison was later arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to commit escape. Authorities say a station wagon was seen in the area at the time of Darren Morrison's escape.
