LAKE HAVASU CITY, AZ - A Labor Day music festival in Lake Havasu City has been suddenly canceled after officials denied it a permit in the wake of the event organizer's arrest for marijuana.
The News-Herald reports that Lake Havasu City refused to issue an event permit to the "Endless Summer Festival." The event was set to take place Aug. 30 through Sept. 2 at the Island Inn Hotel Beach.
This week, organizer Brian Mossman and his associate, Lake Havasu resident Danny Campos-Arellano, were arrested for possession of marijuana and pipes in Mossman's Hummer.
Brian Allen, the city's special event coordinator, says those arrest raised red flags.
Mossman says he has been unfairly targeted and has a California medical marijuana card.
