KINGMAN, AZ - A Golden Valley man is in custody in connection with a fatal shooting in northwestern Arizona.
Mohave County Sheriff's deputies say they arrested 60-year-old Phillip J. Martin early Thursday on suspicion of first-degree murder.
Deputies and detectives responded to a report of a shooting involving a neighbor and his friend.
Authorities say 55-year-old Steven Jeffery Schwartz of Golden Valley was found lying on his side in a driveway and he claimed Martin had shot him.
Schwartz was transported to Kingman Regional Medical Center, where he later died.
Deputies arrested Martin at the scene and say they seized a shotgun believe to be used in the shooting.
Martin has been booked the Mohave County Jail. Authorities didn't immediately know Friday whether he had a lawyer yet.
