LAKE HAVASU CITY, AZ - An Arizona lawmaker says she is "shattered" by the arrest of her adult children for heroin drug use.

State Rep. Doris Goodale, of Kingman, told the Today's News-Herald on Tuesday she loves her children but is making no excuses for their actions.

Kingman police arrested 27-year-old Michael Goodale and 31-year-old Stephanie Goodale, along with three others, May 24 following a three-month investigation into heroin trafficking.

Authorities say all five have been booked into the Mohave County jail on several drug-related felony charges.

Goodale, who does not plan to pay their bail, says she had no idea they were involved in drug dealing. She says both children are bi-polar.

The Republican legislator is currently seeking re-election for a district that includes all of Mohave and La Paz counties.
