FLAGSTAFF, AZ - A resident of Parks, Arizona was killed in a single-vehicle accident Sunday afternoon after hitting a tree.
Deputies arrived on the scene after receiving a call around 3 p.m. regarding an accident that had occurred on Forest Service Road 141 near milepost 17.
The call alerted officials that the accident had injured one victim who was unconscious and not breathing, according to a Coconino County news release.
The victim's vehicle had struck a tree and sustained severe damage as it left the roadway, the press release states.
Coconino County Sheriff's Office, Ponderosa Fire Department and Lifeline Ambulance responded to the accident, and were alerted by an Emergency Medical Technician already on scene that the victim had no pulse and wasn't breathing.
The victim was pronounced deceased at the location of the accident.
Coconino County officials are still investigating the cause of the accident.
The identity of the victim has not yet been released as of Monday afternoon as next of kin have not been notified.
