FLAGSTAFF, AZ - The Coconino County Sheriff’s Office says a woman who went missing last weekend from the Flagstaff area has been found in Tuba City.
Fifty-three-year-old Kimberly Lindsey was last seen February 4 at about 3:30 p.m. just north of Flagstaff in the area of Sandy Seep Trailhead off Highway 89.
According to sheriff's officials, a witness who was in the area said he saw Lindsey getting into a maroon compact sedan that was last seen heading northbound on Highway 89.
According to the witness, it did not appear that Lindsey was forced in to the vehicle.
Authorities said on Tuesday they found an abandoned vehicle on the Sandy Seep Trailhead that had Lindsey’s wallet, credit cards, medication, and cell phone inside.
Lindsey also left the car unlocked with the keys in the ignition.
Sheriff's spokesman Gerry Blair said Thursday that Lindsey was recognized by a Tuba City community member from a flier handed out by deputies.
At about 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, the sheriff's office got word that Lindsey was at a residence in Tuba city where the homeowners were caring for her and attempting to find out where she was from.
Blair said Lindsey was uninjured but disoriented.
Detectives picked up Lindsey from Tuba City and she was reunited with her family.
