FLAGSTAFF, AZ - People in the high country woke up to a layer of snow on the ground this morning.

Bursts of moderate to heavy snow dropped one to two inches around the Flagstaff area. Higher amounts fell in areas southeast of Flagstaff.

Snow tapered off with some clearing around midday but more snow is forecast for the area this afternoon.

Drivers in the area had to deal with slick roads as they made their way around. However Flagstaff police say they didn't have any major issues on the roads.

Arizona Department of Transportation officials say they have snow plows in and around the Flagstaff area.

While they are dealing with some snow cover on a few state routes, they say there aren't any road closures due to the snow at this time.
