FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. - A Flagstaff man is recovering after he was stabbed nearly a dozen times in his home early Sunday.
Family members say an intruder forced his way into an apartment on East 7th Avenue and the victim awoke to find the suspect in his bedroom.
The victim, identified only as Justin, struggled with the intruder, chasing him downstairs.
The suspect allegedly stabbed the victim 11 times before fleeing from the apartment.
Family members say Justin was taken to Flagstaff Medical Center and is in serious condition.
Flagstaff police say the suspect is possibly a Hispanic or Native American male, between 5 feet 10 and 6 feet 3 inches tall with a thin build, wearing a gray hooded-type sweatshirt and has short, curly "Afro-style" hair.
Family members say the attack was completely random and that they do not know who the suspect may be.
A fundraising page has been set up online for the victim and his family.
