FLAGSTAFF, AZ - Cinch Hook gravel pit, a popular snow-play area near Flagstaff, is closed for the entire winter season, according to Coconino National Forest officials.
Authorities said the play area, located on State Highway 87 and Highway 260 junction, is closed because of past problems with trash, sanitation, vandalism and safety issues.
People wanting to play in the snow should contact the Flagstaff Visitor's Center at 928-774-9541 to find out about other locations.
Officials said to remember that snow areas tend to fill up around 10 a.m., so plan your trip accordingly.
