FLAGSTAFF, AZ - Cromer School in Flagstaff suffered extensive damage by at least one person who was inside the school after hours between July 25 and July 26.
According to a Coconino County Sheriff's Department news release, school officials left the building around 4:30 p.m. on July 25 and returned at 6 a.m. the next morning.
Authorities believe that one suspect was either a juvenile or of small stature because they entered part of the school that would only be accessible by someone small.
Multiple classrooms suffered damage and due to the large extent of damage, it is unclear how much, if anything, is missing from the school.
Deputies and detectives have not found any evidence suggesting someone broke in with forced entry, so officials suspect the individual or individuals remained in the building after it was closed and secured.
Flagstaff police officers and detectives are investigating a similar incident that occurred between July 24 and 25 at New Start School on N. Cummings. In this case multiple classrooms also received extensive criminal damage.
Sheriff and police detectives are working together to identify and arrest suspects in both cases.
If you have any information regarding the suspect or suspects involved in this incident, contact the Coconino County Sheriff’s Office at 928-774-4523.
