SCOTTSDALE, AZ - With an eye on the television monitoring the movements of Isaac , Dr. Aldo Guerra can't help but think about what he left behind years ago.
Hurricane Katrina forced Guerra and his family out of New Orleans, unable to return and rebuild his practice.
"It was terrible, debris everywhere, damage, snapped phone poles, signs, trees down, it was something else," Guerra said while sitting in his living room holding his daughter.
Isaac is expected to make landfall as a hurricane and hit the New Orleans area on the exact anniversary of Hurricane Katrina.
"It's hard to describe, you just get butterflies in your stomach thinking about it," Guerra said.
Guerra and his family and friends were forced to Beaumont, Texas during the chaos following Katrina's strike on New Orleans.
Guerra then decided to move to Scottsdale to be closer to other family members and open a new practice, Guerra Plastic Surgery Center .
"It was hard to leave New Orleans behind, there are so many great things and great people, but I am so happy here and this is great," Guerra said, surrounded by his family.
Guerra said over the next few days he will be monitoring the movements of Isaac, concerned about his friends and the city he loves with a disbelief the coast of Louisiana could take a hit on the Katrina's anniversary.
"It's a bit shocking, I'm hoping since these hurricanes are somewhat unpredictable that it won't go down the same type of situation as Katrina," Guerra said. "There's always the possibility it could be just as bad, I think the greatest fear is what damage it can do after it makes landfall."
